Completion of this training in the protection of human subjects is a prerequisite to participate as an investigator or clinician in many clinical research studies. Naturopathic Physicians Research Network members can complete free continuing education credits in the basic ethics of conducting clinical research through the Bastyr University affiliation with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). CITI is a web-based training program delivered via online learning modules. Through the course, you will learn about the history of clinical research in regard to ethics, the main principles of conducting high quality ethical research, and obtain up to 4 CME credits. In the US, the basis of clinical research ethics is the Belmont Report which is recommended reading and the core of most clinical research ethics training.
